[source: geohotps3.blogspot.com] I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3. The rest is just software. And reversing. I have a lot of reversing ahead of me, as I now have dumps of LV0 and LV1. 3 years, 2 months, 11 days...thats a pretty secure system Took 5 weeks, 3 in Boston, 2 here, very simple hardware cleverly applied, and some not so simple software. Shout out to George Kharrat from iPhoneMod Brasil for giving me this PS3 a year and a half ago to hack. Sorry it took me so long :) As far as the exploit goes, I'm not revealing it yet. The theory isn't really patchable, but they can make implementations much harder. Also, for obvious reasons I can't post dumps. I'm hoping to find the decryption keys and post them, but they may be embedded in hardware. Hopefully keys are setup like the iPhone's KBAG. A lot more to come...

"After a couple of days of hacking geohot has released his PS3 exploit to the public which includes source code, glitch point diagram and instructions. Quote geohot: 'In the interest of openness, I've decided to release the exploit. Hopefully, this will ignite the PS3 scene, and you will organize and figure out how to use this to do practical things, like the iPhone when jailbreaks were first released. I have a life to get back to and can't keep working on this all day and night.' You can read the whole post and more over at geohot's ps3 blog, but please try to ignore the comments and do something creative instead, like using the exploit to dump interesting stuff. ;)

Shipping & Returns

 

All in-stock items ordered before 3pm Monday to Friday are dispatched same day unless otherwise advised. Items ordered outside of these times are dispatched at the next earliest opportunity. We hold large stocks and dispatch 99.9% of all

products within the quoted time span.

 

Shipping Methods

 

UK Recorded Delivery (1st Class Recorded, £39.00 Insurance)

 

This form of delivery requires a signature upon receipt. Delivery is normally the next working day but please allow up to 15 FULL working days (this is Royal Mails policy if you ring up to make a claim)  not including the date your order

was dispatched.

 

If your goods are still undelivered please follow the following procedure:

 

Firstly, contact your local Royal Mail sorting office. In 90% of cases an attempt has been made to deliver the goods. If no one was present to sign for the delivery they will have been returned to the postal sorting office / depot where

they are stored for a period of 5 - 10 days.

 

If after this period of time the goods have still not been collected they will be either be destroyed by Royal Mail or returned to us at their discretion (returned post can take up to 5 weeks).

 

If the goods have been returned to us please refer to the section further down this page. If the goods are not at your local sorting office / depot please contact us to inform that your goods have not arrived. Please also include

reference to your order number and the date that the goods were ordered.

 

Please Note: The shipping method is selected by the customer. Royal Mail Recorded Delivery is only covered for a maximum compensation payout of £39. Customers need to ensure that they are happy with this prior to ordering. If a claim

needs to be progressed with Royal Mail this can take up to Six weeks.

 

 

UK Special Delivery (Next Day, £500.00 Insurance )

 

This form of delivery is insured against loss or damage up to £500.00

 

Delivery is the next working day before 1.00pm excluding Saturdays & Bank Holidays.

 

An additional £2 can be paid for guaranteed Saturday delivery.

 

Payment Methods

 

We currently accept the following methods of payment paypal, credit and debit cards.

 

Damaged Goods

 

All goods are packed to an adequate level to help avoid damage during transit by your chosen method. Should a product arrive damaged please contact us via the contact us link. If you receive goods that you consider to be damaged then you

should report this to us to arrange return.

 

No attempt should be taken to repair/correct any items considered damaged. We will not accept a return on items tampered with by the end user.

 

Orders are considered correct and complete after they have been delivered to the customer and accepted for 24 hours so please make sure you fully check your order when it arrives, after this period any claim for damage will be rejected.

 

Undelivered / Lost Goods

 

If after 15 FULL working days not including the date your order was dispatched your goods are still undelivered please follow the following procedure:

 

Firstly, contact your local Royal Mail sorting office. In 90% of cases an attempt has been made to deliver the goods. If no one was present to sign for the delivery they will have been returned to the postal sorting office / depot where

they are stored for a period of 5 - 10 days.

 

If after this period the goods have still not been collected they should returned to us (returned post can take up to 5 weeks). If the goods have been returned to us please refer to the section further down this page.

 

If the goods are not at your local sorting office / depot please contact us to inform that your goods have not arrived. Please also include reference to your order number and the date that the goods were ordered. We will then progress

with a claim.

 

Please Note: The shipping method is selected by the customer & Royal Mail recorded delivery only covers you for £39 maximum compensation. A claim normally takes around 4 to 6 weeks to be completed by Royal Mail

 

Faulty Goods Returned

 

We believe that you will be delighted with your product but there may be occasions where you feel it necessary to return an item. We aim to keep the process as simple as possible.

 

With any return you must return the full item including all parts included in the set, this covers in the case of chips all the supplied wires, pin header, switches etc.

 

Items returned as faulty but  found to be fully working will only be returned at the customers expense plus testing costs of no more than £7.00, if a customer refuses to pay the return costs and/or testing of an item deemed to be fully

working or incomplete it will be stored until a period of 30 days has passed or return payment costs have been made (whichever is sooner) after which time they will be disposed of to cover storage costs.

 

All returns must be made via a recordable postage system (IE: signature request) so proof of return can be made so as to avoid any misunderstanding on goods that the customer claims to have returned but have not arrived with us, any

goods returned without a requested signature will be marked return to sender and reposted.

 

All stocked Modchips are manufactured under strict quality control and the actual cases of faulty chips to date stands at 0.6% .Most problems are due to the install not being correct, poor connections causing bad continuity and flashing

the mod chip with a bios not suitable for your console board model.

 

Chip returns must be made within 14 days of purchase no exceptions or they will be rejected and returned when return costs for postage & package are paid.

 

Modified consoles have a 6 month warranty and are fully tested before dispatch. You void your warranty if you have open the unit yourself or install additional hardware / software.

 

This does not mean that we will not try to assist you if you have a problem.

 

However, if your console is found to be faulty due to a 3rd party repairs within the warranty period will be done at cost.

 

Items sent back without prior contact via sales@xbox-entertainment.co.uk will remain unopened & untouched until either you contact us or 30 days has passed (whichever is sooner) after which time they will be disposed of.

 

All guarantees/warrantees are on a return to base basis only, this means that it is your responsibility to ensure the safe return of any product to us,

 

We strongly recommend you use Recorded Delivery for returns up the retail value of  £39 and Special Delivery if the value of the returning goods is above, £39, this is of course your choice and the safe return of any product is the

customers responsibility.

Due to intensive testing of all returns the results can take up to 14 days including return or replacement.

Pre Ordered or Expected in Stock Items

 

All pre order items are given estimated times of delivery provided to us by our suppliers, this will guarantee the reservation of the item, all delivery dates are subject to change at any time, if you wish to cancel a pre ordered item

then you are subject to a 10% fee, payment is taken when you make pre orders to secure your item.

 

Customer Responsibility

 

The customer is expected to take reasonable care when using any product we provide, all goods we provide are tested at factory level by quality control and again before being dispatched by us. All goods stocked have been confirmed to be

fit for the purpose they are designed for and that they are of saleable quality, if goods are returned to us then the product must not have been damaged by the customer and the customer is expected to take reasonable care when fitting or

using any product provided by us, in the case of Mod Chips the device is considered to have been damaged if the original bios provided on the Mod Chip has been overwritten and or damaged through customer error.

 

Instructions on fitting and advice can be found on the product page, links provided on that page and or in the diagrams and help page, it is the customers responsibility to decide if they have the ability to carry out these instructions.

 

We will not replace or refund any product damaged by the customer, damaged goods returned deemed to have been damaged by the customer will only be returned at the customers expense, if this is not paid then the goods will be stored until

a period of 30 days has passed or return payment costs have been made (whichever is sooner) after which time they will be disposed of to cover storage costs.

 

Please note ALL our products are marked for our identification and we will know instantly if the product you have returned did not originate from us, in such a case the customer will be committing fraud and we will take the appropriate

action.

 

Please Note: Any Mod Chip/s  returned to us that has been flashed with an illegal bios will be rejected for legal reasons & will only be returned at the customers expense, if this is not paid then the goods will be stored until a period

of 30 days has passed or return payment costs have been made (whichever is sooner) after which time they will be disposed of.

 

Incorrectly Supplied Goods

 

Goods incorrectly supplied by us can be returned to us and exchanged for the correct goods (stock permitting). Please enclose your order number, your address and the goods actually required. Goods must be returned in the same condition

that they were supplied. If any goods are returned damaged they will be returned at the customers expense.

 

Unwanted Goods

 

For items ordered within the EEC Under the Distance Selling Regulation 2000 you, the consumer, have the right to cancel your order within 7 days. The 7 days begins from the date you receive your order. To be entitled to cancel the order

the item must be un-used, unopened and in a re-saleable condition i.e. all packing, accessories etc. and must be returned at your expense. The cost of any loss of product / component of a product during transit is your responsibility.

 

All monies entitled to be refunded will be credited once the item(s) has been received by ourselves, less the initial cost of shipping incurred by ourselves. Refunds are issued via the payment method used within 28 days from the date the

goods are returned.

 

Returns will only be accepted if prior contact of the return has been received via The Support Help Desk. Items sent back without prior contact via The Support Help Desk will remain unopened & untouched until either you contact us or 30

days has passed (whichever is sooner) after which time they will be disposed of.

 

Items returned after the 7 day period will only be accepted if  prior contact via The Support Help Desk has been made and we have agreed to accept the return. Please be aware we do NOT operate any try before you buy policy.

 

Substitute Goods Goods

 

If goods are not in stock you will not be able to order them, in some cases a new revision of an item may be made between the order and dispatch period and if this is the case you will be informed of this, no goods of lesser quality or

functional features will ever be sent.

 

Postal Payments

 

We recommend you use either Recorded or Special delivery  to send any postal payments, the postal payments address is given at the checkout. Online payments take president as they are instant so any item(s) that are no longer in stock

when a postal payment is received cannot be dispatched. We will endeavor to offer an alternative if this is the case but are unable to hold an item(s) for you on the strength of an intention to pay via post being placed. Full postal

details are given if and when you select an option to pay via post.

 

Missing Parts/Products

 

All orders are considered correct and complete after they have been delivered to the customer and accepted for 24 hours so please make sure you fully check your order when it arrives. This does not mean any claims of shortages will

automatically replaced and every case will be looked at individually.

 

Please contact us via the online support regarding any shortage claims.

We endeavor to keep all images as a true representation of the goods supplied but in some cases it is necessary for a product to get a true representation of its use it has to be shown with additional items or parts so please refer to

All electrical products are covered by a 12 month manufacturer's warranty. If your product develops a fault while under warranty, please contact www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk and we will advise you where to send it for repair. It is a "return to base"

warranty therefore there will be a delivery charge to return the product back to the relevant UK service centre.

 

Processing of orders

 

Credit and Debit cards are debited before items are shipped by www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk. All prices include sales taxes (where applicable) unless otherwise stated. Shipping is charged on a weight basis, and can be altered at any time without

notice.

 

www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk aim to arrange shipment of all in stock items within 48 hours of receiving your order. Your order may be delayed if the item is not in stock with our suppliers. Some items may be unavailable and the current

stock status is approximate. www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk are not able to supply dates our suppliers may get an item in stock.

 

You can keep track of your order status yourself on-line with the order tracking facility on your account page. Our standard Returns Policy applies to all purchases from www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk.

 

Delivery/Title/Risk

 

The period stated within which you will receive your order is approximate. Goods will be sent to the address given by you in your order and stated in the Order Confirmation. Please note that your goods may be sent to you in installments.

 

Title to any product ordered will pass to you once www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk has received payment in full for that product.

 

If your delivery address is outside of the U.K. you maybe subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note

that customs policies vary widely from country to country; www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information.

 

From time to time www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk may engage a 3rd party to fulfill orders, a contract for the sale of these products will be made between the 3rd party supplier and yourself.  Please note that when shipping products internationally you

should be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.

 

For Christmas Deliveries we recommend that you order by the 18th December. We will endeavour to dispatch all 'In stock' orders within 24 hours, however we cannot guarantee delivery on or before the 24th December as the post may be

delayed in your area.

 

Miscellaneous

The intended purpose of our Electronic Device Products is to allow you to use your game console to play homebrew software, 3rd party software, imports and backups of software that you legally own or developed by yourself, for

The products are delivered with completely blank & removable EPROM. Without the EPROM, or with a blank EPROM the device will function on a games console, but without any features of the public domain Flash File specifications. The

product as delivered to the end user breaks no circumvention laws from any country in any way whatsoever. There will be many Flash Files in the public domain for you, the end user, to experiment with.

 

Offering many varied features and functions - the choice is yours! If any Flash Upgrade fails or if the Flash File is corrupt in some way, you can perform the operation time and time again without any risk of damage to the product or

your Games Console, as the product in it's default legal status will work without a flash file, with an empty flash file, or even with corrupted flash file! In it's Default Legal Status, the product will not apply any patch to games

console Bios or Controller. The Flash content is yours to do with as you please and can be updated an unlimited number of times.
